When you’re at a concert, in an intimate venue, you stand in a sea of people. Shoulder to shoulder, elbow to elbow, boobs to backs, butts to crotches. Everyone smooshed together. Grooving to the music. Moving in unison.
You teleport to the stage. You’re in your own world. Experiencing that unique one-on-one connection with the band. But then––the music transitions. The pace changes. It slows. Way down. And along comes…wait for it, wait for it… a love song.
Suddenly, you feel yourself back in the sea and––wait––a structure has forged. Is this a coral reef? You’re no longer swimming in the dark vast depths. Bodies are paired together. Little clumps and clusters have formed leaving intricate spaces winding throughout the crowd. Hey! This isn’t a coral reef… it’s a love nest!
And you feel yourself. Standing there. Alone.
