Another day of not spending much time with Mom. Though I don’t like it, it’s almost a good thing because usually it means she’s up and moving, running errands, meeting with people. When I returned home from work this afternoon my whole family was home (even my brother who doesn’t live with us anymore). My brother Rich is three years older than me. He lives downtown with a friend and works for Cannon selling commercial copy machines. He’s pretty much settled down with his girlfriend of three years, Alison Joseph. I have no doubt that they will tie the knot, but neither one of them is in any sort of rush. I love her dearly… she was a great catch!
Rich is my big brother. He means the world to me. I’m his annoying little sister. I’m pretty sure he knows how much he means to me though. He has always (for the most part) let me tag along with him and his friends. He has always looked out for me and been my friend. We have a very good relationship. We are very true with one another and very crude in the humor we share. He usually comes home for lunch once a week, and dinner once a week or every two weeks. Today, he was over for lunch. My dad was home (he recently moved his office home, but he’s still out with clients a lot). Mom and Barb (a close family friend) had recently returned home from Mom’s radiation treatment. Basically, it was really nice to walk into a house full of everyone you love!
We all chatted for a bit, Rich and Barb took off, then I split to run some errands. In the evening I went to my Grandma Reiter’s house (my mom’s mom) to play "assistant hostess" for a dinner party she was having. While I was there, Mom and Dad went to the SHOC Headquarters to have another Empowerment Day recap meeting. We all reconvened at home around 9:30pm. And now I’m just winding down. Right now (in life), I’m feeling good. Sometimes I feel gloomy or irritated or anxious, other times I feel happy, excited, content, hopeful and positive. This is just how it is now. There’s a lot pulling on my heart strings.
